EPIC (Energy Prioritization & Intelligent Control) is an intelligent tenant electricity and energy management system for multi-party buildings. The system enables the shared use of locally generated PV and storage energy within the shared building supply in accordance with §42b EnWG.

EPIC is based on the shared building supply model (GGV). Tenants retain their existing energy supplier and also obtain locally supplied PV energy within the building.
The PV energy provided within the communal building supply is recorded via separate MID/calibrated smart meters for each tenant unit. As an option, EPIC provides the landlord with an integrated billing tool for consumption-based PV billing.
EPIC combines the regulatory advantages of communal building supply with intelligent energy prioritization, modular supply technology and modern EMS platform technology. This significantly reduces the complexity of traditional tenant electricity models.
EPIC was developed as a modular platform for multi-party buildings and supports flexible system sizes from approx. 3 to 30 participants. Thanks to its modular design, the system can be adapted to different building sizes.
In addition, the EMS platform supports the clustering of several EPIC systems within a common monitoring and management platform. This allows several buildings or systems to be monitored, analyzed and managed centrally – comparable to modern micro-grid management systems.
