THE TASK OF THE GENERATOR CONNECTION BOX

Generator junction boxes are necessary when connecting the solar system. The solar junction box bundles the power lines coming from the solar modules to the DC main line, which leads to the solar inverter.

Protection by generator junction box: In addition to the bundling of several strings at string common terminals, overvoltage protection elements are integrated to protect other components of the photovoltaic system, in particular the inverter and the solar modules, from overvoltages caused by lightning strikes, for example.

In addition to their protective function, generator junction boxes fulfill many more tasks in today’s PV systems: Due to the large number of strings, individual faults and failures in the system are difficult or impossible to detect. With their integrated measurement technology, our combiner boxes offer maximum yield reliability. In addition, partial systems can be disconnected during maintenance work with the help of appropriate disconnection points in the field, without affecting the rest of the system.
